First of May 2018 will always be remembered in the life of the Episcopal Diocese of North Central Philippines. On this day, observed internationally as Labor Day and in the church calendar the Feast of the Apostles Saint Philip and Saint James, the Reverend Nestor Dagas Poltic was consecrated and installed the 3rd Bishop of this Diocese. He succeeded the Most Reverend Joel A Pachao who was elevated to the top seat of the Episcopal Church in the Philippines in October 26, 2017. Prior to his ascendancy to the episcopate Bishop Poltic was Rector of Holy Guardian Angels Parish in Pico, La Trinidad. He also served as Rector-Dean of the Cathedral of the Resurrection in 2010-2015.

Prime Bishop Joel A Pachao led the consecration rites with seven bishops of the ECP as co-consecrators. The event was witnessed by delegations from congregations of the diocese and other jurisdictions of the ECP, ecumenical partners and representations from the Anglican Communion in the Asia-Pacific region and from the Episcopal Church (USA). Guests list of representatives from the Anglican Communion: Bishop Diane Jardin Bruce (TEC), Rev Bruce Woodcock (TEC); Bishop Ichiro Shibusawa (Diocese of Nagoya, NSKK), Rev Kaori Goto (NSKK), Rev Sintaro Ichihara (NSKK); Bishop Donald Anak Jute and Mrs Julita Jute (Diocese of Kuching); Dean Samson Fan Chun Ho (Anglican Church of Hong Kong-Sheng Kung Hui).

Other bishops of the ECP and their respective jurisdictions in attendance are the following: Bishop Brent Harry Alawas, Diocese of Northern Philippines, Bishop Hilary Pasikan, Jr., Diocese of Northern Luzon, Bishop Danilo Bustamante, Diocese of Southern Philippines, Bishop Jonathan Casimina, Diocese of Davao, Bishop Dixie Taclobao, Diocese of Central Philipines, Bishop Frenzel Piluden, Diocese of Santiago, Bishop Alexander Wandag, retired bishop of Diocese of Santiago.
